West Rome Animal Clinic is a small animal hospital practicing medical, surgical, and dental care for highly- valued patients while offering excellent client service.
West Rome Animal Clinic has been serving the greater Rome area for over 60 years and is conveniently located on 2012 Shorter Avenue.
Our mission is to treat all pets with kindness, dignity and respect while providing high-quality excellent care to achieve the goal of providing more good years together for our clients and their cherished pets.
West Rome Animal Clinic offers a separate area for hospitalized patients as well as a safe, secure, spacious boarding facility including specialty suites and cat condos. All their guests are feed a premium pet food and boarded dogs are walked three to four times daily.
Dr. Dan Pate received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1989. He purchased West Rome Animal Clinic in 1990. A couple years later, he made it a goal for the clinic to become an accredited hospital with the American Animal Hospital Association. As of 1992, West Rome Animal Clinic has been an accredited hospital and has maintained that status.
In 2013, Dr. Pate broke ground on a new 5,000 square foot state of the art facility. With the opening of the new clinic in 2014, Dr. Pate became a member of the American Board of Feline Practitioners and West Rome Animal Clinic became a Certified Feline Friendly Hospital.
